A whole new world of music and culture with cheap flights to Croatia

If you haven't yet booked your summer holiday this year and are looking for something beyond the usual bucket and spade, Jet2.com are offering cheap flights from Bristol Airport to Croatia where the enchanting ancient cities of Split and Dubrovnik are hosting their 61st Summer Festival.

Since its first festival in 1949, Dubrovnik has been absolutely buzzing with creativity and culture every summer. This year, over 2,000 artists from 30 countries are expected to take part, offering music and theatrical events to suit all tastes.

Drama, films, exhibitions, opera, ballet, classical music recitals, jazz concerts and street theatre combine to provide an unforgettable experience.  Dubrovnik's Festival takes place from 10th July to 25th August 2010, while Split hosts its summer events from 14th July to 14th August 2010.

Another popular feature of these annual celebrations is Croatia's national Pula Film Festival with exciting new movies being screened at over 70 venues. And, as many of these venues are open air, you can satisfy your mind while tanning your body at the same time!

Real culture vultures will also want to visit Diocletian’s Palace, either to enjoy a memorable evening performance or simply to sightsee. The magnificent palace – which is actually a city within a city - is a UNESCO world heritage site dating back to the beginning of the 4th century when it was built as a retirement home for Roman emperor Diocletian.
