Flights to Cape Verde launched from Bristol
West Country holidaymakers with a taste for the exotic will soon be able to fly direct to the Cape Verde islands from Bristol Airport thanks to Thomson.
If lounging on a palm-fringed beach with turquoise seas lapping at your feet sounds like your kind of getaway, then Cape Verde’s tourist paradise Boa Vista might just be for you. Renowned for its white sandy beaches, gloriously balmy year-round temperatures and rare marine turtles, Boa Vista is one of the most popular islands in the Cape Verde archipelago.
The ‘new Caribbean’
Recognising its growing popularity as a tourist hotspot, Thomson has decided to launch a new weekly flight service from Bristol Airport to Boa Vista, beginning next winter. From November 2011 to April 2012, Thomson Airways will operate a flight every Tuesday to what’s fast becoming known as the ‘new Caribbean’.
When asked about the latest exotic addition to their flight schedule, Shaun Browne, Aviation Director at Bristol Airport, said:
“Cape Verde is an exciting new destination for those seeking some winter sun, and we are confident it will prove popular with holidaymakers across the South West and Wales.”
Carl Gissing, Director of Customer Services for Thomson Airways meanwhile said:
“At Thomson Airways we are fully committed to our regional UK airports as we understand the importance of allowing our customers greater choice and flexibility. With over 30 new routes being introduced, those looking to escape for some winter sun will have more choice than ever before without the inconvenience of a long journey to the airport”.
