Giant mural unveiled at Bristol Airport
From this week, visitors flying into the South West’s biggest airport will be greeted by a dramatic 57 metre mural depicting many of the region’s most famous landmarks.
The exciting new commission was officially unveiled last Tuesday by Tourism and Heritage Minister John Penrose and covers a 57 metre stretch along the airport’s new arrivals walkway. It features a bold, youthful collage style with bright, energetic colours and visual references to the region’s many cultural and historic icons.
It’s hoped that the dramatic piece will give visitors a flavour of the South West’s unique blend of enterprise and beauty even before they step outside the airport - and yes, Banksy is in there.
