Long awaited hotel approved for Bristol Airport
This month the management at Bristol Airport are celebrating as plans for the creation of a new 251 room hotel finally receive the rubber stamp of approval from the council.
Although Bristol Airport is the ninth largest in the UK in terms of passenger numbers, it’s the only one in the top 15 without its own dedicated airport hotel. Thankfully this is all about to change with work on the new, state of the art facility due to start early next year.
The new hotel will be located just 100 metres from the terminal building and will provide passengers with a comfortable and convenient place to spend the night before catching an early flight. Until now travellers not using the airport’s popular meet and greet parking service have been at the mercy of the airport bus - reliable apparently but not much fun.
An international hotel chain will be appointed to take over the premises in the next few months, bringing the services at Bristol Airport into line with those at other regional airports. It’s hoped that the project will create around 140 full time jobs for the region once completed.
